With over 25 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, I have dedicated my career to working with young children, where I discovered my true passion.
Originally from Venezuela, I moved to Canada 25 years ago and began my journey in the early learning and childcare field. I believe that children’s environments are filled with joy, curiosity, and meaningful learning moments—alongside the everyday experiences of laughter, creativity, and growth.
I am deeply committed to the belief that children learn best through play. My approach focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that fosters self-esteem, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Outside of PJ Kids Club, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am passionate about the outdoors and love hiking, swimming, yoga, and staying connected within my community.
Zuzana Durkovicova
Group Child Care Manager’s Assistant, ECE Teacher
I have been working with young children for over 10 years, a journey that has given me the opportunity to continually learn from them and better understand their individual needs.
I am passionate about creating a fun, positive, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive through meaningful everyday experiences.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking and snowshoeing. I also enjoy listening to music and reading books.
Kelsey Schaerer

I am a recent graduate of Capilano University, where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with children for over five years, most recently as a nanny, building meaningful experience supporting children’s growth and development in a variety of settings.
Through both my education and hands-on experience, I have developed a strong appreciation for the outdoors and a passion for providing children with opportunities to explore and connect with nature.
Born and raised in North Vancouver, I enjoy spending time on the many beautiful local trails and being active in the outdoors. In my free time, I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies.
